I’ll be making a journey to the wonderful country known as ‘America’s hat’. My brother-in-law is getting married and we’re going for a party this weekend. We’ll be leaving Friday morning and arriving that afternoon. What do you guys recommend? Food, cars, BEER, Architecture, and uh.... other “sights”.

If, by sights, you mean what I think you mean, be ready. It is nothing like in the US. Montreal is like the Tijuana of the North. Their rules and enforcement are lax.

Definitely visit Schwartz for some delicious, mouth watering smoked ham sandwich.
Depends if you care about getting out of area tickets, might wanna not speed because there’s a 100% chance you’ll get pulled over.

Meh, I’ve lived in Montreal for 8 years and I have no idea what to recommend lol... Sanair raceway is cheap as fuck just 45 minutes south of Montreal. 100$ gets you to play on the track, usually by yourself, for the day.
Within Montreal, I don’t know. The Plateau has tons of bars to explore. Rosemont’s bars are the same but cheaper.
Eat poutine, it’s good, I like it. La Banquise on Rachel street (corner with mentana or very close) is the best place in the city for one.
Then... I don’t know. Anglophones usually go out around Crescent street, but I’m not anglophone so I don’t really know lol.
The Kamasutra is a good strip club, I’ve been told.

I lived in Montreal for 48 years, am now on the U.S. west coast. Montreal is about as close to a European experience you can get on this continent. Everyone is bilingual and LOVE having a good time.. and they hate stereotypical loud mouth Americans so be courteous and polite. Some ideas for your time in the city:
Schwartz’s for smoked meat, get some to bring home while yer at it
St. Viateur for bagels, buy a few dozen
Gibby’s for a fantastic dining experience in the heart of Old Montreal, great steaks. Get reservations
Drop by the Bar B Barn for some fantastic ribs
Crescent street for drinking, dozens of bars to pick from. Bars only start getting busy at midnight, and close at 3am
Drop by Stogies bar and smoke a Cuban
Get tix to go see a hockey game at the Bell Centre
There’s a ton of strip joints to pick from, I would suggest Chez Paree as the gold standard and move on from there. You will pay an entry fee and the drinks are outrageously priced, but the scenery is well worth it. Keep your hands to yourself or the bouncers will introduce you to Montreal’s fine hospitals. Also, don’t yell and behave like an asshat. Table dances are fun if you’re so inclined, you pay ~ $5 per song and the lady brings her dancing platform over and dances for you. Yes, the strip joints are 100% nude and the ladies are drop dead gorgeous.
There’s a casino right next to the F1 track, a bit different as a) there’s no smoking in the building and b) they do not serve you drinks while you’re gaming. You have to go to a bar in the casino and pay full price for the libation of your choice.
Look both ways, several times, before crossing a street. Montrealer’s don’t care much for traffic laws. Dozens of people get hit every year.

There’s a shop called F1 Boutique near the Old Port with tons of clothes, toys, and racing team merch. Kinda expensive though iirc.
